Binance CLI: trading and account boundaries
Use Binance’s CLI for Spot, USDⓈ-M Futures, Convert, and account features with an explicit production confirmation gate.
Skills
Begin by checking `binance-cli --version`; only run installation when the user asks. The installer can remove an older global npm package and pipes a GitHub-hosted shell script to `sh`, so inspect and pin its source before authorized installation. The command set spans Spot, USDⓈ-M Futures, Convert, profile/account settings, and additional wallet, Earn, loan, and related operations; most account commands use an authenticated profile. Confirm `prod`, `testnet`, or `demo` and the intended `--profile` before acting, then consult the exact subcommand help. The CLI can read account state and can also create, amend, or cancel transactions. Every production transaction requires the user to type `CONFIRM`. Its raw request escape hatch accepts multiple HTTP methods and is not a read-only query path. Keep API keys and secrets in the approved credential store; never print, log, or commit them.
Permissions
Prerequisites
- Requires a local `binance-cli` installation and a Binance API key/secret profile for prod, testnet, or demo.
- The install recipe checks an old global npm package, then downloads a GitHub shell installer and pipes it to `sh`; inspect and pin that installer before the user chooses to run it.
Permissions
- Reads account data and exposes authenticated Spot, USDⓈ-M Futures, Convert, and other account actions through the CLI and profiles.
- Installation runs a shell script locally; API credentials are sensitive. Every production transaction requires the user to type `CONFIRM`. The raw REST request escape hatch accepts broad HTTP methods.
Limitations
This is a high-permission trading and account tool, not a read-only market skill. Confirm the exchange account, profile, and environment, then check the exact command and flags. Keep test/demo separate from production, and never print, log, or commit secrets.
