Finishing a branch: verify, then choose integration
After tests pass, detect the repository state and let the user choose merge, PR, or keep.
Skills
Use this only when implementation and testing are complete. Run the full project test suite, detect whether the workspace is a regular repository, named worktree, or detached HEAD, and confirm the actual base branch. Present the matching options to merge locally, push and create a PR, or keep the branch, then wait for the user’s explicit choice; do not infer that they want a merge. Merge and push change Git or remote state and require authorization for the selected option. Stop on conflicts, failing tests, or an uncertain base. Clean up only a worktree this workflow created and only when it contains no uncommitted files; show any work at risk and obtain explicit confirmation before destructive cleanup.
Permissions
Prerequisites
- Use after implementation and tests are complete when deciding how to integrate work.
Permissions
- Reads Git state and may merge, push, create a PR, or remove a worktree.
Limitations
Confirm the base; remote publishing, branch deletion, or file removal requires explicit user choice and authorization.
