Keep source files as immutable evidence with identifiers, paths, and dates. Attach a citation to each extracted fact and label inference separately. Maintain Markdown topic notes, source indexes, and links; compare upstream revisions before updating and record changes. Check every number, quotation, and conclusion against original material, and retain audit links when retiring stale notes so an agent does not fill missing evidence with confident guesses.

Limitations
Citations can break when upstream files or licenses change; summaries must retain context and uncertainty.
