Advanced TypeScript types and reusable utilities
Model safe APIs and components with generics, conditional, mapped, and template literal types.
Skills
Enable strict mode and let the compiler infer simple cases. For library APIs, forms, or configuration, use generics, conditional/mapped/template-literal types deliberately. Prefer `unknown` plus guards over `any` or assertions, model mutually exclusive states with discriminated unions, and add type tests for edge cases. Bound recursive types and compile time; document public utilities so clever types do not obscure errors.
Permissions
Prerequisites
- Needs a TypeScript project, tsconfig, build/test commands, and current strictness settings.
Permissions
- May inspect/edit approved type and test files; run typecheck/tests, but do not publish without approval.
Limitations
Complex types can slow compilation and type tests do not validate runtime data.
