Zoom Video SDK: Web
Build custom real-time video sessions on Web with Video SDK, not the Zoom Meeting embed SDK.
Skills
Use for custom video sessions rather than actual Zoom Meetings. Read the platform’s Video SDK start, lifecycle, session-join, and reference docs; implement initialization, join, media/screen-sharing, and cleanup. Web guidance covers browser communications and related capabilities; native builds must verify permissions and device lifecycle. Test with a development session and temporary credentials; do not reuse Meeting SDK signature or identity assumptions. On Web, use the `@zoom/videosdk` package and browser session lifecycle: access media streams only after joining, and render existing participants through event-driven `attachVideo`. Detect screen-share targets, SharedArrayBuffer, and browser support first; features such as recording also have role restrictions.
Permissions
Prerequisites
- A Zoom Video SDK app for Web and a development session with secure session credentials.
Permissions
- Creates a real audio/video session and may access camera/microphone or share screens; obtain participant consent and do not start production sessions without approval.
Limitations
Video SDK is for custom sessions, not embedding Zoom Meetings; verify platform features and SDK versions.
