Audit and provision a team API workspace
Use the organization Admin API to invite members, create a workspace, and audit keys and a CI service account.
Goal
Use the organization Admin API to invite members, create a workspace, and audit keys and a CI service account.
Steps
- Create a test workspace with client.beta.organization.workspaces.create and record its ID. [source-anthropic-audit-and-provision-team-workspace]
- Invite approved users, assign workspace roles, and audit existing API keys. [source-anthropic-audit-and-provision-team-workspace]
- Review changes and CI permissions before real use; stop on any error. [source-anthropic-audit-and-provision-team-workspace]
How to verify
In a test organization, verify workspace ID, invitation status, roles, and CI identity; reconcile each action ID with the audit record.
Troubleshooting
If an invite fails, read current membership before retrying one invite; stop further provisioning when roles or audit records do not match.
Permissions
Prerequisites
- Python 3.11+, anthropic>=1.1.0, organization Admin/Owner role; use a test organization first.
Permissions
- The Admin API requires organization-admin permission; the workflow actually creates a workspace and sends member invitations. Use an isolated organization and test addresses, not bulk production writes.
Limitations
Run the source on isolated test data, then check outputs and dependency versions before adapting it.
