Maintain appointments and generate a dated agenda
Use personal-assistant tools to create/update appointments and produce an agenda for a selected date using current time.
Goal
Turn natural-language appointment requests into ID-verified calendar records and an unambiguous daily agenda.
Steps
- Install sample Docker/Python dependencies and confirm calendar tools point to local demo data. [src10-strands-maintain-calendar-appointments-and-daily-agenda]
- Use current_time to resolve date/time and call create appointment with time, location, and description; record the returned appointment ID. [src10-strands-maintain-calendar-appointments-and-daily-agenda]
- Before updates, read the appointment by ID then call update; finish by listing the date-specific agenda and checking changes. [src10-strands-maintain-calendar-appointments-and-daily-agenda]
How to verify
Compare appointment ID, time, and description before/after; agenda contains only the selected date in the correct timezone.
Troubleshooting
If the agenda shifts by a day, inspect timezone from current_time; if the wrong event changed, stop and restore demo state by appointment ID.
Permissions
Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+, Docker, and the local Strands personal-assistant sample.
Permissions
- Calendar tools create/update events in sample storage; connecting a real calendar requires separate account and scope approval.
Limitations
This is a single-user demo calendar and does not handle cross-calendar conflicts or invitation email.
