Azure App Onboard: estimate and approve before provisioning
Analyze an app, choose Azure services, scaffold infrastructure, and gate deployment with approval.
Skills
Identify whether the input is an idea or an existing codebase, and gather budget, scale, and service preferences. Create or resume a session and confirm signed-in identity and target subscription. Read the skill’s session protocol and pipeline rules, complete prerequisite checks and intent gathering, then write an architecture plan and explicit cost assumptions. Present the plan and wait for scaffold approval before generating infrastructure files. After scaffolding and recording its manifest, show validation results and request deployment approval. If approved, follow the deploy checklist, provision resources, run health checks, and report resource identity, cost implications, and cleanup commands. Stop on phase failure and let the user choose retry, skip, or abort.
Permissions
Prerequisites
- The user wants an idea or existing app on Azure with service selection, cost estimate, architecture, and scaffolding.
- Confirm subscription, identity, budget, and codebase; the workflow has scaffold and deployment approval gates.
Permissions
- May inspect the repository, write IaC and session artifacts, and create/deploy Azure resources after explicit approval gates.
- Cloud provisioning changes the subscription and may incur costs; never skip the approval gates.
Limitations
Distinguish architecture advice, preparation, and end-to-end deployment; verify subscription/identity and do not present estimates as quotes.
