Temporal Workers on AWS Lambda
Deploy Temporal workers to AWS Lambda through the Worker Controller Instance, processing tasks on demand and scaling to zero.
Skills
Use only after the user selects AWS Lambda and the Temporal Cloud/WCI architecture. The skill produces worker code, Lambda packaging/deployment configuration, connection settings, and troubleshooting steps. Follow the AWS references for IAM, versioning, timeout, observability, and self-hosted boundaries. The pinned source marks Lambda as Public Preview and supports AWS only; GCP Cloud Run is out of scope. Pin SDK/CLI versions and review CloudFormation resource changes.
Permissions
Prerequisites
- An AWS account able to deploy Lambda and CloudFormation, Temporal Cloud/WCI setup, and a chosen supported SDK.
Permissions
- Edits deployment files and may create or change AWS resources with cost. Do not deploy or grant broad IAM access without least-privilege review and user approval.
Limitations
Only AWS Lambda is marked supported in the pinned source and it is Public Preview; do not adapt this workflow to GCP Cloud Run or call it GA.
