Develop and Debug Temporal Applications
Build workflows, activities, and workers with multi-language SDKs and handle retries, signals, versioning, and durable-execution issues.
Skills
Use for Temporal SDK code, workers, or workflow diagnosis. Identify the SDK and server mode first; local development can use `temporal server start-dev`, while production must distinguish Cloud from self-hosted. Keep workflow logic deterministic and put external I/O in activities. Verify language-specific APIs for signals, queries, heartbeats, versioning, and continue-as-new, then run tests and CLI checks.
Permissions
Prerequisites
- A repository using a specific Temporal SDK version and either a local runtime or authorized Temporal Cloud/Server connection.
Permissions
- May edit workflow/worker code and run a server or worker; starting a workflow against a shared service changes remote state and requires an authorized environment.
Limitations
Temporal APIs and determinism rules depend on SDK versions; ordinary nondeterministic I/O is not safe inside workflow code.
